I decided to take my blog down as it seemed pointless to keep up with the wordpress updates for a site that I have not updated in the past 6 months and probably will not update in the next 12 months. It is a shame that packets traveled possibly thousands of miles and cpu cycles were used just so you could see this message. In effort to derive some value from your journey here, I share these quotes with you.

The race is long and, in the end, it's only with yourself
-Mary Schmich
Note: An existential quote. Fundamentally I see it as a reminder to pursue happiness.

Our saints were once sinners and our sinners were once saints
-Unknown source
Note: Don't judge a person entirely on their past. Judge them for what they are today.

Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes driving down the freeway
-Tanenbaum, Andrew S
Note: A technical quote. It takes a minute to register. I first happened upon this quote on a forum in 1999. Funny that it still holds true today, if you replace the tapes with hard drives.

There are two kinds of people in this world, the workers and the hustlers. The hustlers never work and the workers never hustle
-From the movie Cocktails
Note: I am not a big fan of the movie, or 2 kinds of people quotes in general. I like this quote because it holds true in that people tend to either prefer predictability and repetition (worker) or they prefer a struggle as long as it is not always the same struggle (the hustler).

A penny saved is a penny earned
-Benjamin Franklin
Note: This is the best financial advice out there. It is not about how much you make, but rather how much of it you keep.

You watch television to turn your brain off and you work on your computer when you want to turn your brain on.
-Steve Jobs
Note: Turn off your TV, life is too short. I believe in that first quote ;)
