I started a meetup .
Let’s talk about the name DevSecOps first. It’s controversial and it’s not inclusive if we’re only joining the abbreviations of 3 specialties. It’s not perfect, I didn’t like it at first either, but it’s the name that’s been adopted for organizations that have applied lean principles towards the delivery of software while also reducing risk and improving security. If you can’t beat them, join them.
The name isn’t important, community is important, learning is important. This meetup has DevSecOps in the name but it’s open to anyone who wants to learn how to design and implement processes that optimize the efficacy and efficiency of delivering solutions to customers that both solve their problems while not adding new problems related to confidentiality, integrity, or availability.
I’ve never run a meetup before. I’ll probably stumble a bit before it’s dialed in. Come stumble with me. Let’s learn together.
